Dry & Red January 2024

I set myself two challenges at the start of January this year. One was Dry January, and one was RED January. I wanted to kickstart my year, shift some energy and (to be honest!) some weight, and thought I’d use momentum from setting resolutions in my favour.

I committed to RED (run every day) January and adapted it to movement every day. A mix of runs, spin classes, strength, and yoga classes, this was such a great challenge that gave me structure, a sense of accomplishment and much better sleep too.

RED January is such an amazing organisation that inspires millions worldwide to get daily movement in. So with my swim, run, yoga girl lifestyle, I adapted to this discipline well as I try to live this way in day-to-day, beyond January.

With a few knee tweaks along the way, a purchase of some brand new HOKA trainers and listening to my body’s signals for rest, I take from this first month of 2024 a lot of motivation to make this my healthiest, strongest and most balanced year yet. I’ve got some races in the calendar, so with a solid month of training behind me, I cannot wait to see how the rest of the year goes!
