I am fanatical about podcasts, so throughout my half-marathon training I’ve taken so much joy in planning specific runs to lengths of my favourite weekly shows. I love consuming this kind of content while I’m on the move, and running/walking I feel is made even juicier with a good listen, a laugh, a thought provoking idea. Here’s some of my absolute favourites.

My Therapist Ghosted Me

Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally are best friends who happen to be Irish, hilarious and never fail to make me burst out laughing in public. At 30-45 mins I tend to tune in for easy going runs that I can just relax into. I’ll 100% be at their next live podcast tour.

Should I Delete That?

Alex Light and Em Clarkson co-host this equal-parts funny and relatable podcast, that also dives into often deep conversations from the topical to the taboo. For my Monday morning workout and commute, this is my go-to. Their bonus episode Is It Just Me is also one I tune into for commutes. It’s become such a part of my week!

We Can Do Hard Things

I’m a long-time lover of this podcast from writing genius, Glennon Doyle, her brilliant wife, Abby Wambach and beloved Sister - Amanda. When I need to settle into a long run or interval sessions, they offer so much wisdom and comfort. Brilliant with guests, brilliant without guests, I never miss an episode!

Honestly Unbalanced

My go-to yoga inspiration from dream duo Adam and Holly Husler. They dive into topics and converstations that inspire the way I move on my mat, the way I approach my own practice, and my thoughts on my own discovery and appreciation of yoga philosophy. I discovered this at the start of my YTT back in 2023 and have loved every episode since!

Runpod

Predictable? A show hosted by Jenni Falconer, huge running lover and brilliant host of this show ‘where runners unite’. I love that each episode focuses on someone we may think we know about in the public eye, this show shines a light on their love of all things running and movement. It’s a celebration of running as part of an active lifestyle, endlessly inspiring, motivating when I’m climbing a hill!

Power Hour

Adrienne Herbert is the author of the book titled the same, which I devoured back in early 2021 and still revisit for inspiration all the time. Her weekly podcast is like rocket fuel for tempo runs and the kind of early morning inspiration I’m always looking for. I’m also really nosey, and love that at the end of each interview with each brilliant guest she asks them their morning routine and power hour. No two are the same!
